On the road

We left Georgia on Tuesday, April 6th and drove to Maxwell AFB in Montgomery, Alabama and stayed there one night. It was a nice park and large Air Force Base. At 5 pm they played the star spangled banner over an intercom and at 9 pm they played taps.

We left the next day to our next destination, Gulfport, MS. Here is a picture going over the bridges We arrived at the Naval Construction Battalion Center getting the last RV spot. We set up then took a drive on I-90 West to watch the sunset at Pass Christian.

Shrimp Boats

Today, Thursday April 8th we drove East on I-90 to Biloxi, and saw the Casinos, and new homes that were rebuilt after Katrina. Bill said there used to be floating Casinos which was all that was allowed in Mississippi but now there where only Casinos on land.

We were shocked by the properties that no longer existed due to Hurricane Katrina, you could see pieces of houses and their cement pads and the trees that had grown back were still bare on top; we can only imagine what it looked like when it came through in 2005.

Friday, April 9th we headed to New Orleans.
